A Message From Our Principal
Mrs. Christine Montero - Principal
Mr. Steve S. Naber - Asst. Principal
School 23's Global Learning Through Technology Magnet Program is designed to prepare our children for success in the 21st Century. Emphasis is placed on the awakening of intellectual curiosity through experiential learning; focusing on the skills needed to gather, analyze, and communicate information. Our children are actively involved in extensive, hands on projects requiring the use of state of the art technology; enabling them to become productive citizens of our ever changing global society.
School 23 Students Are Shining!
Fifth grade students throughout the district created comic books based on each school's individual Magnet themes. School 23 created their comic books based on a Global Problem which had to be solved using some form of technology. Our hard work and perseverance paid off! Congratulations to our cover winners Giselle Ruiz, Nigiah Thompson and Renna Fadda from Class 5 M/B for their comic "The GNR Girls", as well as Fabian Esprit and Jasmine Martinez from class 5 J/M for their comic, "Polar Bear Trouble", which will also be featured.

Fifth grade students have "Gone Green" and created a campaign to promote awareness of Reducing, Re-Using and Recycling at School 23. Students created "recycling boxes" for all classrooms, re-used products to make gifts, created speeches, and video-taped infomercials with the assistance of Maggie Martinez-Deluca our Bank Street College Partner with our Global Learning through Technology Magnet.
