Board of Education Appoints Dr. Michael Yazurlo Superintendent of Yonkers Public Schools
The Trustees approved a two-year contract for Dr. Michael Yazurlo to serve as Superintendent of Schools, effective May 22, 2014. Dr. Yazurlo has been serving as the District's Interim Superintendent of Schools since February 19, 2014.

Teresa Tralli Named Teacher of the Year
Teresa Tralli, third grade teacher at School 22, has been named the 2014 Yonkers Public Schools Teacher of the Year and will be inducted into the Teacher Hall of Fame. 

Principal Elda Perez-Mejia Named 2014 Administrator of the Year
Elda Perez-Mejia, Principal of Eugenio María de Hostos MicroSociety School, has been named the Yonkers Public Schools Administrator of the Year, earning the Leadership in Education award sponsored by the Rotary Club of Yonkers - East Yonkers in association with the Yonkers Board of Education.

Gorton's Academy of Medical Professions First Hand Training at St. Joseph's Medical Center

School 23's Global Learning Through Technology Magnet Program is designed to prepare our children for success in the 21st Century.  Emphasis is placed on the awakening of intellectual curiosity through experiential learning; focusing on the skills needed to gather, analyze, and communicate information.  Our children are actively involved in extensive, hands on projects requiring the use of state of the art technology; enabling them to become productive citizens of our ever changing global society.
